Settle in for a restful night with a duvet that delivers gentle, dependable warmth from season to season. This 10.5 tog design is filled with a blend of polyester and naturally derived Tencel fibres, creating a soft, breathable feel that’s as comfortable as it is conscious. The microfibre outer adds a silky smooth touch, helping the duvet glide around you as you fall asleep. Thanks to Tencel’s ability to support steady temperature balance, you can stay comfortably warm without feeling overheated, night after night. Tencel is naturally eco-friendly, made from sustainably sourced wood pulp and produced using a gentle, low-waste process that feels good in your home and in its making.

This 10.5 tog duvet gives cosy warmth to help you enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep all year round.
Made from a thoughtful blend of 70% polyester and 30% Tencel fibres, providing softness, breathability, and an eco-friendly touch.
The 100% microfibre cover feels wonderfully soft and smooth, adding extra comfort as you settle into bed.
Tencel’s natural temperature-regulating properties help keep you warm without feeling too hot, creating a more restful sleep environment.
Will Tencel help me avoid night sweats more than cotton or microfibre?
Tencel is well known for its ability to absorb moisture and release it back into the air, which helps keep the sleeping environment drier and more stable in temperature than many standard synthetic fills. In our duvet, the Tencel-rich fill works with the soft microfibre cover to reduce that “humid” feeling under the covers, making it a good option if you are prone to night sweats or sleep in a warmer bedroom.
What does Tencel feel like?
Our Tencel duvet has a smooth, softly draping feel rather than a crisp hotel-sheet texture. The microfibre outer feels gently brushed and cosy to the touch, while the Tencel/polyester blend inside gives a fluid, almost silk-like drape without the slipperiness of pure satin. Most people describe it as soft and breathable, with enough body to feel substantial but not heavy.
Is Tencel suitable for people with eczema, sensitive skin, or allergies?
Tencel fibres have a naturally smooth surface and excellent moisture management, making them kinder to sensitive or easily irritated skin than some coarser or drier fabrics. Because our duvet uses only Tencel and polyester in the filling, with a synthetic outer and no feather or down, it fits nicely into an allergy-aware bedding set. As always, anyone with severe eczema or allergies should check individual triggers and follow their clinician’s advice.
Does it need special detergents or delicate wash cycles?
Tencel doesn’t require highly specialised detergents, but it does prefer gentle care. A mild liquid detergent without bleach or optical brighteners is suitable, and washing on a delicate or gentle cycle with cool to warm water will help protect the fibres. Avoid fabric softeners, as they can coat the material and reduce breathability.
Although Tencel can be washed at home, we advise taking it to a professional dry cleaner or launderette, especially for larger items like duvets. Professional machines are better suited to handling bulkier bedding and use gentler processes that help maintain Tencel’s softness, structure and long-term performance. This ensures thorough cleaning without stressing the fibres or risking incomplete drying.
Why is Tencel considered more eco-friendly than other alternatives?
Tencel is made from wood pulp, usually from sustainably managed forests, using a closed-loop production process that recovers and reuses over 99% of the solvent and much of the water, significantly reducing waste and emissions compared with many conventional fibres. The fibre is also biodegradable under the right conditions. When you choose a Richard Haworth Tencel duvet, you combine those material benefits with our broader sustainability commitments, such as Better Cotton sourcing and ISO 14001 environmental management.
