The Richard Haworth Partner Programme (RHPPP)

At Richard Haworth, our reputation for delivering high-performance linen to the hospitality sector has been built over more than 140 years. This legacy of quality is supported by a commitment to transparency, responsibility, and continuous improvement. The Richard Haworth Partner Programme (RHPP) extends these values across our global supply chain.

Developed to drive industry-leading standards in product quality and sustainability, RHPP is how we hold ourselves and our partners accountable to the highest levels of performance and responsibility.

The objectives of the RHPP programme are to:

  • Monitor and improve quality and sustainability performance across the RH supply chain
  • Engage and support suppliers on the topic of sustainability
  • Provide additional criteria through which supplier selection and buying decisions are made

Quality and Responsibility, Seamlessly Integrated

The RHPP provides a clear framework for evaluating and strengthening our supply base, ensuring every organisation we work with aligns with our standards for quality, ethical conduct, and environmental care.

Each supplier is assessed annually based on two key pillars:

  • Operational Performance – This includes product consistency, communication, and service levels. Suppliers are required to hold ISO 9001 certification, affirming that robust quality management systems are in place.

  • Sustainability Practices – We assess environmental performance across areas such as energy use, emissions, water and waste management, and materials sourcing. Where applicable, we encourage alignment with ISO 14001, the globally recognised environmental management standard.

In addition, all primary suppliers must undergo a Sedex SMETA 4-pillar audit, which evaluates working conditions, health and safety, environmental responsibility, and ethical business practices. These audits are integral to our commitment to the ETI Base Code, ensuring safe and fair labour standards throughout the value chain.

We also require or prioritise third-party certifications such as Oeko-Tex Standard 100, which confirms textiles are free from harmful substances, and the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI)—through which over 80% of our cotton is now responsibly sourced.

Structured Partnership, Recognised Performance

Each supplier is allocated a tier based on combined performance and sustainability scores, this system encourages continuous improvement while offering suppliers a clear and supported pathway to excellence. Importantly, it also provides our customers with confidence that our sourcing strategy is built on transparency, ethical practice, and progressive environmental action.

Why This Matters to Our Customers

For hospitality businesses, the RHPP delivers real-world advantages. When partnering with Richard Haworth, you can be assured of the following:

  • Consistently High-Quality Products – Every item meets rigorous quality control standards and is manufactured under ISO 9001-certified systems, ensuring reliability, durability, and guest satisfaction.

  • Verified Ethical Sourcing – Suppliers are regularly audited via SMETA, and compliance with the ETI Base Code is a prerequisite—safeguarding workers' rights and welfare.

  • Sustainability as Standard – Through certifications such as ISO 14001, Oeko-Tex, and our high uptake of Better Cotton, our supply chain actively supports reduced environmental impact and enhanced traceability.

  • Alignment with Corporate ESG Goals – With the growing emphasis on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance in procurement, RHPP enables customers to demonstrate meaningful progress against their own sustainability objectives.

Beyond formal assurances, Richard Haworth products are engineered for commercial performance—maintaining their appearance, comfort, and structural integrity through repeated laundering and high-usage environments. This reliability reduces operational waste, enhances guest experience, and ensures better long-term value.

Ethical Practice as a Core Principle

Today’s hospitality end users are demanding more. It’s no longer enough for linens to feel luxurious and durable — they must also be responsibly made. Sustainability credentials and ethical sourcing are now critical criteria in many procurement decisions seeking to meet their ESG targets.

The RHPP ensures that our products speak to these expectations. Whether you are a textile laundry supplier, a small guesthouse or a large hotel chain, you can rest assured that Richard Haworth linens align with your brand’s values. Our supply chain reflects your commitment to transparency, integrity, and sustainability—and provides documentation and certifications to support your procurement policies.

When our products are placed in your rooms, restaurants, or spas, they represent more than functionality and comfort—they are a mark of responsibility, backed by over a century of heritage and forward-looking standards.

A Commitment to Long-Term Progress

The Richard Haworth Partner Programme is an initiative that reflects the dynamic nature of modern procurement. We do not view suppliers as mere vendors but as long-term partners whose success is tied to shared values and continuous improvement.

We believe that raising standards is not a solitary effort. It requires suppliers who are open to feedback, innovation, and collaboration. It requires customers who value the journey as much as the product. And it requires leadership that stays ahead of regulatory change and environmental challenge.

Through the RHPP, we bring all of these elements together. The result is a stronger, more transparent supply chain that delivers value—not just to us and our partners, but to our customers and the world we live in.
